About Eirlume Studio
Introducing Eirlume Mosaic and Stained Glass Studio, based in lovely Leitrim, Ireland. The name ‘Eirlume’ is a mix of Éire (the Irish word for Ireland) and lumière (the French word for light). It’s also a little nod to the word heirloom, because everything we make, from stained glass lamps and doors to custom mosaics, is designed to be something special that lasts for generations.
We’re a husband-and-wife team combining years of hands-on experience and creativity. Charlie Perpoil has over 30 years of woodworking under his belt, crafting everything from custom furniture to unique structures. Vanessa Power brings her artistic eye as a lettering artist and muralist, she’s been painting signs and murals as Signs of Power for over a decade. Together, we blend our skills to create one-of-a-kind mosaics and stained glass pieces for homes and businesses all over Ireland.
Charlie
Charlie grew up in the beautiful Loire Valley in France, where he picked up a love for wood carving when he was just six years old. By fourteen, he’d joined the renowned French guild Compagnons du Devoir to really hone his skills as a carpenter. After ten years of intense training, he made the move to northwest Ireland in 2005 and set up his own woodworking business in Leitrim.
Creative energy was always around him, his mum made amazing mosaics and vibrant stained glass pieces, which had a big impact on him growing up. Being around all that colour and creativity gave him a real appreciation for how woodwork can blend beautifully with other crafts.
Vanessa
Originally from Dublin, Vanessa relocated to Leitrim in 2021. She founded her sign-painting business, Signs of Power, in 2014, creating bespoke shop signs and large-scale, word-based murals for clients across Ireland.
On her first trip to France with Charlie to visit his parents, Vanessa was blown away by his mum’s incredible stained glass and mosaic work. Inspired by what she saw, she decided to take a part-time stained glass course at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, where she learned how to bring her lettering and designs to life in glass.
She’s always loved the old entranceway mosaics you find around Dublin and Sligo, the kind that add a real sense of place and personality to an entry. Now she’s passionate about creating pieces that bring that same welcoming feel to homes and businesses.

At the heart of it, we just want to create beautiful stained glass and mosaics that bring design, craftsmanship and colour to every place and client we work with. And for each piece to be treasured and passed on for years to come.
