Eirlume Studio at Irish Design Works 2026
Charlie and Vanessa at Irish Design Works 2026
This summer, we were delighted to be invited to take part in Irish Design Works at Ballymaloe Grainstore in Co. Cork, exhibiting alongside some of Ireland’s leading designers and makers.
Running from 24th July to 16th August 2026, the exhibition brings together 18 craftspeople working across furniture, ceramics, leather, wood, glass, lighting and other disciplines.
For the exhibition, we created a collection of nine handcrafted stained glass lamps, including several new designs alongside new versions of some previous favourites.
For Irish Design Works, we wanted to create a collection that felt distinctly Eirlume, contemporary, colourful and the craftsmanship of each piece clearly visible.
Contemporary Irish craft and design
Irish Design Works began as an exhibition focused on exceptional bespoke furniture and has since grown to include a much broader range of contemporary Irish craft and design.
That made it a particularly lovely exhibition for us to be part of. We care deeply about keeping traditional craft skills alive but also about using them to make work that feels relevant to contemporary homes and interiors.
Stained glass has an incredibly rich history, but it doesn’t have to belong to the past. Our aim is to make pieces that feel at home alongside good contemporary furniture, ceramics, artwork and architecture, while retaining all the character and individuality of something made by hand.
Irish Design Works at Ballymaloe Grainstore
With 18 makers exhibiting over three weeks, Irish Design Works is a chance to see an unusually broad collection of Irish design and craftsmanship together in one space.
We’re very proud to have our stained glass lamps included amongst the work this year and grateful to Irish Design Works for inviting us to take part.
