Eirlume Studio at the Glass Society of Ireland 'Connecting' Exhibition

We were delighted to take part in the Glass Society of Ireland’s Connecting exhibition. This was our very first time exhibiting with the society and a real milestone for Eirlume Studio.

The exhibition opened on Friday 2nd August at Jerpoint Glass in Kilkenny, with a wonderful evening celebrating glass art and the theme of connection. It features the work of 45 glass artists from across Ireland and explores how glass can strengthen the bonds between people, places and ideas.

For our piece, we created a stained glass lamp inspired by the connection we feel with nature. Living and working in Leitrim, we are lucky to be surrounded by beautiful forest walks. These are the places we go to slow down and reconnect with the nature. That feeling of peace became the heart of the lamp, a functional piece of art that brings a little bit of the outdoors inside.

It was a pleasure to see our work exhibited alongside so many of Ireland’s leading glass artists and craftspeople. Meeting some of them in person at the opening made the experience even more special. The exhibition will next travel to the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin, where it will run from 27th October to 1st November. We highly recommend visiting. It is filled with stunning work by glass artists from all over the country.
